Applies to: SmarterMail (all versions)
In order to revert a license back to the free edition, remove the license key and activation code from the mailconfig.xml and then stop and start the SmarterMail service. Here are some instructions that will help.
- Log into your server as the Administrator
- Using the Window Explorer navigate to the (SmarterMail default folder) c:\program files\smartertools\smartermail\service
- Open the mailconfig.xml file with Notepad
- Delete these two lines below:
<licenseKey></licenseKey>
<activation></activation>
- Save the file and then close it
- Stop the SmarterMail Service and then Start it, again.
